Happy Stuff Yourself Silly Day!

Posted: November 27, 2008 in Family, Friends, Holiday, Home, photography

There’s “I’m thankful for…” posts all over the innernets today. Great big long, meaningful, well thought out posts of magnitude and oomph.

This is not one of them, except to say that I’m thankful for Calvin, all of my readers, my friends and family, my job, my health, my crazy pets, and that gas prices are close to $2/gallon for the expensive stuff. Oh! And whisky.

I cleaned for FIVE HOURS STRAIGHT yesterday, with a 20 minute break for a ham sammich. Then I cooked a pie, cornbread, and magic cookie bars. Then Calvin and I went to the bar.

I’m going to get started on the turkey in exactly 26 minutes.

It rained off and on all day yesterday, and I leave you now with best wishes for this holiday, and an image that might brighten the stressed-out cooks among us:

Hugs and kisses, my gentle snowflakes!

That is a gorgeous photo. Apart from the double rainbow, I also love the pool of light on the nearby houses. It’s hard to think that there isn’t some kind of celestial message there. Have a great day, and enjoy your turkey!

Today I’m going to try to figger out how ta wrap a bacon piece around a sea scallop for the first time.
    Pray for me.
    Happy Eating!

  5. Are “magic cookie bars” anything like “special brownines”?

    That might help your appetite!!!!!!

  6. Laura says:

Jeanette – Thanks! Hope your day was lovely, too.

Jayne – It looked cooler in person. And maybe some year you can come out and visit us and I’ll feed you until you burst!

Kim – I prayed. Did it work? Sounds yummy, whatever you were making.

MTAE – Now THAT’s and idea for next time. Recipe for magic cookie bars is here. I could just mix the “special ingredient” in with the graham crackers!
