1iconloveSo I just found out from Calvin that he’s going to be travelling for business one week in February, and March, AND April. Next week he’s in Flagstaff, he’ll be in Vegas for a week in March, and he’ll be in Chicago for a week in April. While I’m always sad when he’s away from home, he and I both take it as a huge compliment and good sign that his employer is willing to spend significant money to send him to remote job sites, to out-of-state seminars, and to out-of-state training. That’s pretty good, in this job market and economy, isn’t it? At least I’m not the only one who knows what a valuable asset Calvin is! To a marriage AND to a corporation.

I may not be accompanying Calvin to Chicago in April after all. However, that doesn’t mean that I’m scrapping my plans to visit Heather! No indeedy. After an exchange of e-mails, she and I have figured that it would be fun for me to visit over the long weekend during the Fourth of July. Fun stuff happens around that time of year in her area, and I’d get to see her friends’ bands play. Plus, she’d have time off for the holiday and over the weekend, so we’d get to spend time together instead of just brief meals or meetings during the week such as would have occured during Calvin’s trip in April.

I miss my Heather. I’m so excited to be able to go spend time with her!

GAH. Someone has a lunch in the office heavily laced with parmesan. It smells like ASS.

I dropped the truck off today at B3st Buy, so the G33k Squad could install the amp and subwoofer that Calvin found on-line for D!rt Ch3ap. I anticipate a lot of riding around town, windows down and music blaring, this weekend. Long time readers must know by now that the stock stereo just NEVER suffices in any vehicle that we own.

I sometimes forget how important music is to our lives, unless I stop to really think about it:

  • We pay for satellite radio.
  • We go on frequent CD purchasing excursions. And our entire CD collection goes with us on any road trip we partake of.
  • Rock Band is our favorite video game.
  • We plug fives into the bar’s jukebox on a regular basis.
  • My iPod is attached to my person at all times.
  • My cell phone upgrade was considered based on my ability to load songs onto it.
  • We’ve watched ALL of VH1’s plethora of hits-based theme programs – some multiple times. “I Love the 70’s”, “I Love the 70’s Volume Two”, “I Love the 80’s”, “I Love the 80’s Strikes Back”, “I Love the 80’s 3-D”, “I Love the 90’s”, “I Love the 90’s Part Deux”, “Top 100 Hard Rock Songs of All Time”, “100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the 80’s”, etc. etc. etc. ETC.
  • Making and receiving mix CD’s is one of my very favoritest things.
  • One of our favorite games is to be the first to ask the other, “Who is this?” when a song comes on the radio.
  • The televison is on the music access channels more often than it’s on regular TV.
  • I’ve been known to sing karaoke.
  • I have a Ticketmaster membership.

This weekend we have a couple of roofer estimates to deal with, prep for Calvin’s trip next week, and some maintenance to do on the house on top of the regular cleaning. Other than that, we’ll do the dinner and a movie thing for Valentine’s tomorrow. Calvin already read my letter to him, and pronounced it the “best one yet.”

How’s THAT for a warm-fuzzy?

Oh! And I developed those four rolls of mystery film that I mentioned in Twitter, so look for an entry all about that in the near future. Have a great weekend, everybody!
