Flibbity Jibbity (Aka: My title block continues.)

1iconfascinatinggoon1Well, day one back to work went down without too much of a fight. Albeit, it was much easier than it could have been, working from home as I was. Within ten minutes of logging in this morning I was struck anew at the sheer amount of TEDIUM my job involves. I have added tracking late orders and adding new parts to our inventory database among my Top Five Most Hated Tasks.

Number one will ALWAYS be dealing with Accounts Payable. No matter what other tasks may come across my desk, they will never attain the coveted Number One Most Hated spot. For ever and ever, amen.

As the renewed season of television programming approaches (Death to Reruns!), I find I am faced with a dilemma. Some mid-season timeslot shifts have resulted in a pile-up of programs airing at the same time on different stations. My DVR will only record two shows at a time, and if you’re watching television at the time that you’re recording two shows you HAVE TO watch one of the shows being recorded (which is dumb – why would I record what I’m watching?). I could record two shows on the living room television and watch a third show in the bedroom, but that involves too much coordination and will surely annoy Calvin (and we DON’T WANT THAT).

Giving up any of my shows is out of the question. Of course. AND I’m adding new ones, because apparently I’m a slave to the boob tube. Look at this lineup, will you???

Sunday – Merlin (new show! no conflict here, since True Blood and Californication are off-season right now)

Monday – Big Bang Theory
Monday – Two and a Half Men
Monday – How I Met Your Mother
Monday – House
Monday – The Last Templar (a miniseries, I think)
Monday – Trust Me (new show! might not make the cut, and i might love it. you never know.)
Monday – Medium

Tuesday – Leverage
Tuesday – Fringe
Tuesday – Reaper

Wednesday – Criminal Minds
Wednesday – Lie to Me (new show! may or may not make the cut.)
Wednesday – Life

Thursday – Private Practice
Thursday – Grey’s Anatomy
Thursday – Bones
Thursday – CSI

Friday – Battlestar Galactica
Friday – Dollhouse (new show! It’s one of Joss’ shows, so it will almost definitely make the cut.)

Obviously Mondays and Thursdays are going to be problematic. PLUS Jen got me hooked on Supernatural, so some day I’m going to be caught up on the back seasons and will want to watch the current shows. Oh, what a dilemma! What to do, what to do?

For those of you who requested it, the recipe for buffalo chicken dip has been posted over at WFN. Enjoy!

  1. Sherry says:

I am so happy to know you include Criminal Minds in your line-up! Not enough people that I know watch that. If I was forced to choose only one show that would be it, it’s my favorite currently-on-air show.

  2. kimmothy69 says:

I know a woman who lives alone who has two different TV’s with two different dvr’s for this very reason.
    And I envy her.

  3. Calvin says:

Well I know another woman who will be alone if she thinks I’m spending Friday night watching Battlestar Galactica…:)

  4. Lana says:

How is it that SciFi’s Ghost Hunters did not make the list…? If you haven’t seen it it is worth checking out on Wednesday nights…

  5. angelcel says:

So much of the telly we watch is American imports and many of these shows I don’t know at all. On your list Bones and Criminal Minds are my favourites, closely followed by CSI – Vegas and, it has to be said, Miami. The photo filters used in CSI Miami make the city look stunning and I just love Horatio’s totally hammy acting….jayne slowly slips dark glasses onto nose and stands, side-profiled, by the setting sun 😀

  6. Taoist Biker says:

    You forgot:

    Tuesday – Scrubs

  7. Taoist Biker says:

BTW, damn you for your new tagline! Damn earwigs.

Around the time that song came out, a minor nemesis of mine from Dys and I’s old MUD (a notorious playerkilling thief) started referring to himself as the Hotstabba.

    Annoying, but highly funny.

Maybe you had to be there?

  8. AmyD says:

Oo oo! Trust me! That’s the one I wanted to check out. I’m also waiting for The Beast with Patrick Swayze to start on A&E!

  9. iamheatherjo says:

Step. Away. From. The. TV. 😉

  10. farmwife says:

Holy cow. I don’t even HAVE television! 🙂 I am bummed about it tonight though – on The Biggest Loser, the yellow team girls are from our little town! I watch it on hulu.com, but they are a week behind. Anyone know where you can watch NBC live online?

  11. Laura says:

Sherry – I was sad when Inigo left, but Joe Montagna (sp?) seems to be doing well.

    Kim – Sad, ain’t it?

Calvin – Har har, hardy har har.

Lana – I catch it every now and then, but it’s not the kind of show I feel I really need to keep up with…

Jayne – ::snort:: I only really enjoy the original CSI. I CAN’T STAND HORATIO.

TB – Dangit. And this is their last season, right? Also, yes. Presence was required, I think.

Amy – AAAAARG. Forgot about that one, too!

    Heather – No joke.

Farmwife – Good heavens! I must mail you one immediately! You poor thing! I don’t know if NBC does live streaming, but I do know you can catch a lot of their shows on-line AFTER they’ve aired…
