Leave your name in my blog comments.
Once you do that, this is what I’ll do for you…

1. I’ll respond with something random about you.
2. I’ll tell you which song or movie you remind me of.
3. I’ll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle you in.
4. I’ll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
(if possible. if not, I’ll say something that only makes sense to me.)
5. I’ll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I’ll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I’ll ask you something I’ve always wondered about you.
8. If you play, you MUST post this on yours. You MUST. **
Since it says “I must” twice, then I must!

(Stolen from Jen, who I am going to answer in my comments.)

    4. Are you ready for me to move in with you yet?
    5. I followed your link from (I believe) Jill/Viv’s website and wrote you a note telling you I was adding your blog to my list of links. You had written a sweet little entry that day about your quiet little life in Jersey and island living, and I was hooked.

  9. Jayne says:

    7. I just got tired of re-naming everyone in my life (‘to protect the innocent’) and trying to avoid saying anything which might prompt a showing of the internet crazies. I miss it though and have considered a return, of a sort…

  10. Jean says:

    Me! Jean!

  11. Laura says:

😀 Which Jean are you? I know two!

  12. Calvin says:

    This should be interesting.

  13. Jean says:

Hmmmmm. Maybe I want to be the one you like best….actually, you only ‘know me’ through my comments here. Be kind.

  14. Laura says:

    Calvin:

    7. How did you find my website?

  16. Heather says:

I did you! wink wink nudge nudge

  17. Lanie says:

Im assuming youre talking about the very first visit ever? It wasnt dread. It was more like “crap” because I wanted everything to be just right. I wanted to make a good impression, that was all. But of course Michael had the run of things and did everything ass backwards and screwed a few things up. And although he put me into a very uncomfortable position (with the withholding crucial information thing) you guys made me feel so much a part of the family. I love you guys.

  18. Laura says:

    Heather!
    1. You are the definition of “friend”. To all of your friends. Anyone who can call you their friend is very, very lucky.
    2. “The Rundown”. And, “The Rainbow Connection.” OH! And, “While You Were Sleeping”.
    3. Purple.
    4. These mashed potatoes are so creamy!
    5. I’d probably met you before this, but that year that you and I went Christmas shopping. You’d just lost your mom, and I’d just lost Grandma. We commisserated over wine at Olive Garden. We became really good friends in the course of a single afternoon. And you bought me my angel earrings!!! I ruff roo.
    6. A puppy!
    7. What was the best lesson you ever learned from your mother?

  19. Laura says:

    Lanie, we love you too!!!!!!

  20. Heather says:

Sorry, but you are definitely ‘Hello Kitty’. Heehee…

The best lesson I learned from my Mom was to be independent and not to rely on anyone to take care of me because they won’t always be there. Seriously, this was drilled into my head from an early age (along with not taking a ‘back seat’ to anyone and to stand up straight). That has been invaluable to me throughout my entire life and I know I wouldn’t have been able to get through half of the stuff that I’ve experienced if she hadn’t made that a priority in raising me.

  21. Heather says:

Oh, and I could have gone on and on with the movies and songs and memories, but I thought it only wanted one! Memories and things that remind me of you, my dear, could most certainly fill their own entry. Maybe I’ll get to work on that. 😉

  22. Megan from Chandler says:

Hmmm…This is pretty interesting. Can you answer these for me?

  23. Frank says:

I want to jump in. It looks pretty interesting.

  24. Laura says:

    Megan:

    4. You gonna ride an ostrich this year?
    5. You e-mailed me after making one of my Grandmother’s recipes (or was it instructions on how to make pie crust?). I knew we’d be BFF after that!
    6. A fawn.

  25. Laura says:

    Frank!

    4. Do you ever just paddle around in a canoe or kayak? Just for fun?
    5. You commented about one of the pictures I’d taken on vacation in Maine. I followed your link to your website!
    6. A loon (water bird!).
    7. How did you and Ann meet?

  26. […] by Laura on February 18, 2008 Hi gang. The youyou is still going really strong! I’ve left answers for everyone who asked, so if you […]

  27. Joanna says:

Hi Laura…I can’t resist the urge to join in the fun!

  28. Megan says:

1.)I remember an entry a few years back where you and Calvin had spent the evening with a dull couple who took offense to Calvin’s jokes and were otherwise extremely boring. And I thought ‘Gosh, I’m just that puritanical and humorless, I’ll bet they’d HATE me!’ You’ve been warned.
4.) Probably won’t be going to Tumbleweed, though we used to go when it was downtown. Might be shielding little ears from Shamus the Insulter this weekend though. I’ll be interested to see how my Devlin-aged son reacts to the Wenches’ breastices. (And how my husband reacts to that reaction…)
7.)I will not be starting a blog. I wanted to, but for the reasons Jayne said she quit–those are the reasons I can’t begin. Meantime, I save some of my wordy emails in a file for posterity… (Hah, right.)

  29. Frank says:

Hi Laura I’d like to join in the fun also. Thanks.

  30. Laura says:

    😀 Frank, see above comment # 25…

  31. Laura says:

    Joanna:
    1. You love fudge. 😀 And you give great advice.
    2. “Joanna” by Kool and the Gang (don’t kill me!)
    3. Chocolate
    4. “Never do for a child those things they are capable of doing for themselves. It makes them feel inadequate.”
    5. Oh lordy. I think you e-mailed me a long time ago in response to one of my entries in my old journal about my Grandmother…
    6. Happy Bunny! 😀
    7. What is your life story? You’re always so kind in the comments you leave for me, but I know almost nothing about YOU!

  32. Joanna says:

You always make me feel like there is so much life to squeeze in each day. Regarding Q7 I live in Arizona…Tucson. I’ve been to Vermont and I think its beautiful. I can see why you love New England. My kids are grown and out on their own…they are still single…no grandkids. When you talk about your Grandmother, I just get this feeling that she would grab you up, give you long hugs and tell you what a great job you are doing with your life. Your site is fun!

  33. Frank says:

Hey Laura, thanks for your answers. How embarrasing that I asked twice to be included.

    1. A Masters Age Rower is a rower 27 years or older.
    3. I’m hoping to brew my second batch of beer sometime soon. I’m going to try making some English Pale Ale this time.
    4. I have paddled around for fun in a canoe, but way before I got into rowing. Funny but I’ve never been in a Kayak. For fun, I row a single. I race in 8+s, 4+s and 4Xs (Quads).
    7. Ann and I met in a four week class our employer sent us to. I was living and working in SC at the time and she was living and working in Virginia.
